Pastor Ryan and his Wife Michelle
The sermon below was written by Pastor Ryan Cangiolosi from Glory Christian Fellowship:
This was a sermon given by Pastor Ryan at my church on Sunday (11-30-08), and I wanted to share it with you! Enjoy!
7 Things To Be Thankful For:
1. The Gift of Forgiveness- Acts 10:43, "All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."
2. The Gift of Eternal Life- Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
3. The Gift of the Adoption into His Family- John 1:12, "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, he gave the right to become children of God..."
4. The Gift of His Guidance- John 8:12, "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
5. The Gift of Abiding in Him and how that allows us fruitfullness and significance- John 15:5-8, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."
6. The Gift of being with Him forever and to see His glory- John 17:24, "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of hte world."
7. The Gift of His Holy Spirit- Luke 11:13, "If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"
If we can be thankful for these 7 things, just like the Bible asks us, then we will abide in His love forever!
