Be Thankful

Goofing off!

It's hard to believe that fall is almost gone but a sure sign is Thanksgiving. I was lamenting this past weekend on the fate of Thanksgiving in our society. As we went about doing our chores and running errands it was Christmas everywhere. Every store seemed to have a Christmas theme and Home Depot was putting the finishing touches on all the artificial Christmas trees. What happened to Thanksgiving?! Don't get me wrong; I love Christmas. But I love Thanksgiving as well.

To me Thanksgiving is a time to pause and think about the things that make us truly thankful. It isn't as blatantly commercial as Christmas has become in our society. It has always been one of those holidays that makes us count our blessings. I heard the other day it is the only holiday that centers around food (probably why I love it so much). I will again be thinking about those things that have made me realize how truly fortunate I am. While there are times that I, and I am sure you, don't feel so fortunate because of a tough day. But when I pause to look at my son and all the blessings in my life then i know I am fortunate indeed.

I wish you a healthy, family filled Thanksgiving. I hope the things you are thankful for are many and your troubles few. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Remember Those Men and Women

"This nation will remain the land of the free only so longs as it is the home of the brave." - Elmer Davis

We remember our Veteran's every year on November 11. It's important to take time out to remember those men and women who have fought, and continue to fight, to preserve freedom and liberty. Our military has always been there as our protectors and defenders from those who seek to do us harm, and it seems that just one day is hardly enough to say thanks and show our appreciation.

I have many Veterans in my life, and I want them all to know how grateful I am for your service to your country and it's citizens.

As you go about your day tomorrow, I encourage you to take a few minutes to reflect on what our military members have sacrificed to keep us safe. There are many special observances that you can participate in or attend, as well.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.  ~John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Homeless, Halloween & Having Fun!

This weekend was filled with SO many blessings, I dont even know where to start. Very early Saturday morning, Donovan, my brother and I went to go feed the homeless as part of a ministry we are involved in with our church. It was the most liberating thing I have done in a while. I am so blessed with the life I have, and what better way to repay that then by feeding the homeless?
My brother and Donovan serving food!
Huge turn out. We were there for over three hours!

Then on Sunday we took Liam trick or treating. He had so much fun. He was a lion this year!
I also received a job offer yesterday!!! One that I had prayed about for months that I would get. It is with ATF, and they are one of the top ten federal agencies to work for! I am SO happy, I am truly blessed.

Then, my wonderful husband bought me this, ohhhhhh how bad I needed a new one. I cant wait to use it!

I am blessed!
